Organic Teas
Black (Camellia Sinensis)
One of the most commonplace styles of Tea Leaf, Black Tea is created when freshly-harvested leaves are intentionally damaged by rolling to induce the process of oxidation. Through this process, the chemical composition of the leaf changes allowing for different flavors to come to the forefront. Black Tea has a more astringent taste, often being described as nutty, earthy, and citrusy. Its caffeine content is increased through oxidation, making this style of tea beneficial for those who desire enhanced energy and focus. This style blends amazingly with orange peel, ginger, anise, hawthorn berry, and lemon. We recommend Black Tea blends iced and sweetened with honey; but it’s really quite enjoyable any way you steep it!
Chai (Camellia Sinensis)
This highly sought-after blend of Tea, Camellia Sinensis, originating in India, is full of antioxidants, helps to reduce inflammation, and increases focus due to its moderate amount of caffeine. The flavor is a rich blend of spices including cinnamon, cardamom, and cloves. It is enjoyed best with frothed milk.
Earl Grey (Camellia Sinensis)
Earl Grey Tea is a super popular and distinctly-satisfying style of Tea created by saturating Black Tea leaves with Oil of Bergamot. This essential oil, originating from a type of citrus fruit, adds a bold flavor to your cup of tea which takes Black Tea to the next level. Many describe its flavor as smokey and complex. We recommend drinking Earl Grey without mixing it with other herbs to best appreciate its flavor. Most Earl Grey aficionados appreciate the tea with a splash of milk added.
Green (Camellia Sinensis)
One of the most appreciated styles of Tea by those living healthy lifestyles, green tea is light in caffeine and high in antioxidants and healing botanical compounds. The leaves of Camellia Sinensis are harvested early and treated delicately to avoid the process of oxidation which produces some bolder teas such as the Black and Oolong varieties. At Té Adoro, we offer a style of Green Tea that is very flavorful due to extremely careful handling at the time of harvesting. This style is a must-try for those seeking low amounts of caffeine, a light but distinct flavor, and all of the health benefits Camellia Sinensis has to offer. Green Tea is best enjoyed on its own or mixed with other herbs with a light and airy flavor such as mint. It’s equally enjoyable whether it’s served hot or iced.
Jasmine (Camellia Sinensis)
Using high quality Green Tea leaves as a base, essential oils pressed from Jasmine Flower is added to provide a beautiful floral taste. With all of the same benefits Green Tea offers, let the calming scent of Jasmine enhance your relaxation and mental clarity. This blend has a very long history in China where it is considered their most flavorful style of Tea. At Té Adoro, we recommend enjoying Jasmine Tea on its own, or combining it with other herbs such as orange and ginger.
Matcha (Camellia Sinensis)
This highly-prized product of the Tea plant is a jewel of the natural world. The highest quality green tea plants are provided with extra shade for a few weeks prior to harvesting, which encourages the plant to increase flavonoids and caffeine content. After harvesting, only the leaf-tips are kept, and all stems are removed before being ground to a very fine consistency. Using this method leads to a very smooth-tasting product which concentrates the already-powerful traits of normal green tea. At Té Adoro, we offer only the ceremonial grade of Matcha, which is the most precious of the varieties and the only one permitted to be served inside Buddhist temples. We recommend you enjoy Matcha without any sweetener or milk in order for the flavor to be best-appreciated.
Oolong (Camellia Sinensis)
Oolong tea is a specialized variety of Black Tea originating from specific farms in China. The leaves of this strain of Camellia Sinensis are generally broader than those of other strains, and are oxidized using a technique that lends to a slightly different flavor than the average Black Tea. The Oolong we offer has a bolder flavor than our Black Tea, and is very smooth. It contains a fairly high amount of caffeine compared to other styles we offer. We recommend this one hot and on its own!
White (Camellia Sinensis)
When the immature leaves of the tea plant, Camellia Sinensis, are harvested and left to dry in natural sunlight, White Tea is produced. This style of tea is relatively low in caffeine, and offers a slightly more leafy flavor than other teas which have been aged longer and come from more mature leaves. This leaf offers the same health benefits as a Green Tea, but with a milder flavor. We recommend drinking white tea on its own to appreciate its unique flavor, or by blending it with other herbs to add a hint of energy to your custom cup of tea.
